h i b e r n a l

Consider this an offering, a call out, an invitation; you are receiving this because your name has been added to a list of inspiring creative women and non-binary folx.

h i b e r n a l is the latest offering from The Creative Gals Guild (CGG). An exhibition to mark the shift from darkness to light, let go of what no longer serves you and make space for new growth and purpose. An inclusive exhibition for female and non-binary artists to explore and share their creative practices.

The winter solstice, the longest night of the year, has been recognised since ancient times as an important astronomical occurrence. The death and decay of summer's abundance has faded through autumn and by midwinter the earth is in hibernation, waiting for the annual “return” of the Sun and new life and growth. Seen as a time to honor feminine energy and the Mother Goddess, rituals encouraging introspection and nurturing the inner self have evolved over eons.

We invite women and non-binary folx to join this exhibition, to display your divine work that is inspired by growth or decay. Consider an end to doom scrolling, instead switching to creative endeavors, this is your invitation to submit work to h i b e r n a l.

Join us on the longest night to feast and commune and mark the change of seasons. The exhibition opens on Friday June 20th and continues on June 21st taking place at BSIDE Gallery located on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nations in Brunswick Street Fitzroy.

To participate follow the link to an Expression of Interest (EOI) and tell us about your intent. Spread the word around our resilient community should you feel called to.
